Melissa Ezzell from Mt. Vernon and others worked with Tammy and Richard to bring a clearer understanding of the work on the cross to our children and youth on Easter Weekend.
And ultimately the "Journey to the Cross" was completed as they learned of the death & resurection!
The upper room and the Last Supper...
On Friday Night, the children experienced a trip to the temple...
They then had a "Glow in the Dark" Egg Hunt on the soccer field.
Hopefully all of our kids will learn to be the Light in a dark World just like the eggs glowing in the dark and that we will all run eagerly to tell others about Jesus just as they quickly ran to collect the eggs!
Then on Saturday afternoon the Youth came together first with a great time of praise and worship with Nori Ellis and a couple of his band members
Jeremy Hairr brought a great message-
The Youth shared a meal and then Melissa explained what the "Journey to the Cross" would be like for this group!
Each group learned to carry the burdens of others as some were tied together at their legs and had to make their way to the cross together,
Some by leading a blind person on the journey... some by carrying the burden of getting extra food for hungry people we may encounter along the Journey...
And others by bearing the weight of a lame or sick person all the way to the cross.
It was exhausting, just like our lives with all the burdens we carry can be at times.
Once at the Cross, Melissa helped the Youth to understand that we may not know exactly what our "Journey" in this life will look like, but we can finish the race set before us because we have the cross. We have a Savior who conquered the grave and a Holy Spirit to helps us on our Journey!
What a GREAT WEEKEND!
A Big "Thank You" to everyone who helped!
