WMU Missions Retreat

We had a great group of women come out for the Friday night/Saturday morning Mission Retreat. After a delicious spaghetti dinner, we had lots of carbs to burn-

So  the fun & games began!

Tammy Weeks  motivated the group by bringing a message  on all that "I Can" do as a "Woman   on Mission"   for Jesus Christ

IMG_9068.JPG
IMG_9065.JPG
IMG_3444.jpeg

The overnight stay was so much fun and
Saturday morning was all about  a little "hands on" missions! The ladies worked  filling bags for the Special Olympics  and prayed for the recipients of the bags-

IMG_9064.JPG
IMG_3442.jpeg

And then finished the  morning sorting and  hanging for the Thrift Store Ministry!

Christmas Gathering Around the International Christmas Tree

In November we met to pray for our international missionaries and foreign missions

international christmas orn.jpg

Our special guest shared from past mission trips to Costa Rica and South Africa

And Tammy encouraged everyone to pray and give to our Armenian Building Project!

IMG_8624.JPG

A special offering was taken for the Armenian project and we saw the gauge move UP! Hopefully our goal will be accomplished soon and the construction teams will start!

IMG_8629.JPG

A few people hung new ornaments on the International Christmas Tree and shared why they were significant to them-

And of course we shared Christmas delights together from all corners of the world!

Pumpkins & Praise Fall Festival was delayed a couple of weeks due to a hurricane threat but    the Lord always knows best-The day was perfect!

IMG_8496_edited.jpg

God gave an abundance of Pumpkins this year and a "New" stage for our Praise Groups to perform! We also were given a "New" sound system that is phenomenal!

Many of churches and other vendors  had craft and food booths!

IMG_9632.jpg (1).heic

The Raffle Fun was won by Alice Bland! A special "Thank-You" to Carolyn Cottle of Peace Baptist for selling 1,250 tickets and "Thank-You" Poultry Queens for selling the day of the event!

"The Chili Cook-Off"
was a huge hit! Our judges were looking at texture, aroma, flavor, uniqueness, and heat and they came up with a winner-

IMG-9614.jpg

Mr. Steve Boone of Concord took the prize! Congrats!

And What a Great Finale to the Day-
